What to do in Cape Town?

Cape Town is one of the nicest cities in the world I have been to! It is a nice city with a nice center which is also close to the coast. Therefore there is something fantastic for everyone to do.
Cape Town is also a safe city. It is only advisable to stay in the center and not explore the "poor" neighborhoods. It is also advisable to take an Uber or cab to the hotel after sunset instead of walking.

Besides the well-known tourist attractions such as Table Mountain, Lions Head and a visit to Camps Bay beach, there is much more to experience in and around Cape Town. What I personally found very impressive to do is to go to a Township. This of course accompanied by an experienced guide, because it is really not recommended to do this on your own. It is of course very sad to see how some people live, but the people were so friendly and it does put both feet back on the ground.

Surroundings of Cape Town

About an hour's drive from Cape Town is the pleasant town of Stellenbosch. Here any wine lover can have a great day. There are wonderful wineries and delicious wines to be found here! It is also a beautiful area to drive through.

Near Simons Town nearby is Boulders Beach. This is 45 minutes south of Cape Town. Here penguins walk on the beach and dive into the sea from here. Very funny to see because it really is a tropical place! We recommend going as early as possible because it is a popular spot!

Another must do is a visit to Robben Island. This is one of the most impressive places I have seen (and I have had the pleasure of seeing quite a few!). Here you will learn so much about Nelson Mandela, the Apartheid regime and under what miserable conditions these people had to stay here. It is a dark time in South Africa's history, but very educational.
When you go to Robben Island, it is by boat from the Waterfront. This is Cape Town's cozy harbor overlooking Table Mountain. Really nice to eat or drink something here and walk around. There is always something to see and do!

Tip from Yoni: go to restaurant Mama Africa in the center of Cape Town. Here they serve fantastic (African) food with live music. It is a funky restaurant where tourists and locals come. The decor alone would be worth the visit!
