Victoria Falls

The Victoria Falls in southern Zambia is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world. For miles around, the mist of the enormous amount of falling water can be seen. At the peak of the rainy season, as much as five hundred million cubic meters per minute falls over the edge of the ca. hundred meters high and almost two kilometers wide cliff. It is just what you want to see, at the end of the rainy season is the most spectacular but if you want to explore the rock formations and gorges of the falls, the end of the dry season is the best time.

You can get there from Livingstone via Mosi-oa-Tunya Road, which is Ca. 11 kilometers. Just before the border you can park and there are numerous hikes to do. Should you want to do a trip in Zimbabwe and still want to see the falls from Zambia, you can also do so. Cross the border at the town of Victoria Falls and turn left immediately after the customs post. So you can combine the beautiful falls well with a trip through both Zimbabwe and Zambia.
