GoTravelhome General Terms & Conditions

VALID FOR MOTORHOME ONLY BOOKINGS MADE WITH EFFECT FROM 10 JANUARY 2023

Motorhome only bookings are supplied by Travelhome, a Dutch company governed by Dutch law. For details of how your motorhome only booking is protected, please see the FAQ's.
Please read the following General Terms & Conditions carefully as they will govern your booking and contract with Travelhome.

I. Algemene Nederlandse Vereniging van Reisondernemingen (ANVR) GENERAL PROVISIONS

1. APPLICABILITY OF THE GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS
When booking a motorhome only travel service with GoTravelhome, which is a trading name of Travelhome, a subsidiary of the ANWB, the ANVR-Booking Terms for single travel services (ANVR Terms) and the supplementary Chapter II of these General Terms & Conditions are applicable.

2. ANVR TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR TRAVELLERS 
Travelhome (Dutch Business Number 30147625) is affiliated to the ANVR. ANVR operates strict standards for membership and promotes the quality of services and the information provided in that regard. The motorhome only services on this website are offered in accordance with the ANVR Terms (ANVR-Booking Terms for single travel services), which are applicable to all motorhome only offers on this website unless explicitly stated otherwise.

When making a booking you must confirm that you have read and agree to the specific terms and conditions in the ANVR Terms that are applicable to your booking. 

The following provisions have been set by Travelhome. No discussions about the content of these articles have taken place between ANVR and the Dutch Consumers’ Association within the framework of the Self-regulation Coordination Group of the Social and Economic Council of the Netherlands. Apart from the deviations allowed in the terms and conditions, the Travelhome provisions do not prejudice the ANVR Terms and are intended as a supplement to the ANVR terms, as stipulated within them, and/or to strengthen the travelers position.

For the rental of the motorhome you enter into a contract with the renter on site. The terms and conditions of the rental company are applicable to the motorhome rental.

3. STICHTING GARANTIEFONDS REISGELDEN (SGR)
Travelhome (Dutch Business Number 30147625) is affiliated to the SGR (Dutch guarantee fund for prepaid travel). You can check this on www.sgr.nl. The motorhome only services published on this website come under the SGR guarantee, within the limits of the SGR guarantee scheme. Under the SGR guarantee, consumers are guaranteed that their travel pre-payment will be refunded if the supplier is unable to provide the agreed services due to financial insolvency.

SGR CONSUMER CONTRIBUTION
Since 1 February 2021, every consumer who books travel through a travel company affiliated to SGR pays a contribution.

4. CHANGING BOOKINGS, BOOKING ADDITIONAL ITEMS
If you wish to make changes after the initial booking, Travelhome will charge a fee. Travelhome will also charge you any additional costs for changes made by the supplier. Please note: supplier costs can be up to a maximum of 100% of the costs at the time of booking. We recommend booking the whole trip at once to avoid these additional administration charges.

Travelhome charges the following administration fees for adding extra travel components to an existing booking:

  • From 5 working days after booking until 56 days before departure: ₤15
  • From 56 days to 14 days before departure: ₤39.50
  • Additional bookings within 14 days before departure are not possible.

Travelhome charges the following administration fees for changes to the original itinerary:

  • Up to 42 days before departure: ₤50
  • From 42 days to 14 days before departure: ₤100
  • Changes within 14 days before departure are not possible.

In the event of an addition or change, any additional costs incurred by the supplier, will be passed on to you regardless of when the addition or change is made.

Changes or additions of extra travel components must be confirmed in writing to Travelhome. This can be done by e-mailing service@gotravelhome.com.

5. CANCELLATION
If you have to cancel the trip, you must do so in writing to Travelhome at service@gotravelhome.com. Instead of Article 9.2 of the ANVR Travel Conditions, the following provision applies in respect of cancellation by the traveler. In addition to any reservation costs and insurance premium due, the traveler shall owe the following cancellation costs to the tour operator immediately:

  • for cancellation up to the 56th calendar day (exclusive) before the departure day: the deposit or 20% of the travel sum, whichever is higher.*
  • If you cancel from the 56th calendar day (inclusive) to the 42nd calendar day (exclusive) before the day of departure: 30% of the travel sum;*
  • Cancellation from the 42nd calendar day (inclusive) up to the 28th calendar day (exclusive) before the day of departure: 50% of the travel sum;*
  • Cancellation from the 28th calendar day (inclusive) up to the 14th day (exclusive) before the departure day: 75% of the travel sum;*
  • Cancellation from the 14th calendar day (inclusive) up to the 7th day (exclusive) before the day of departure: 90% of the travel sum;*
  • for cancellation from the 7th calendar day (inclusive) to the day of departure: 100% of the travel sum;*
    *At all times, the amount of any cancellation insurance, booking fees and contribution to SGR will also be calculated.

In the rare case that the cancellation costs from the motorhome rental company or other travel components exceed the aforementioned cancellation fees, they may reach up to 100% of the cost at the time of booking.

These varying cancellation conditions are clearly outlined on the website within the offer and/or in your travel proposal.

6. METHOD OF PAYMENT
Payment options
Credit card is the only accepted payment method for motorhome only rentals.

Credit card
Payment by Visa or Mastercard is accepted. Card details can be entered during the payment process on the secure 'my environment' page.

  • When paying by credit card, a booking deposit of 20% is required. The remaining 80% must be paid no later than 30 days prior to departure.

The payment does not need to be made with the credit card of the designated driver of the motorhome; another credit card may be used. However, upon picking up the motorhome, the designated driver must present a current credit card in their own name.

It is not possible to pay the rental deposit in cash. Further information on the rental deposit can be found in the terms and conditions of the motorhome rental company.

7. EXCHANGE RATE GUARANTEE AND SURCHARGES
If the exchange rate of the relevant currency rises or falls, it will not affect the price after the booking has been confirmed. However, changes to the payment conditions may occur due to measures taken by the rental company. In such cases, Travelhome will inform you in a timely manner and enable you to company with the new conditions. This situation may arise, for example, if a tax increase is imposed on the rental company.

8. DURATION OF TRIP
Motorhome rental in the United States and Canada is expressed in nights. In Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Europe, rental is payable per calendar day. There are some exceptions whereby motorhome rental is expressed in nights, in which case this will be mentioned explicitly in the pricing information on the website and/or in your invoice.

9. DEPOSIT & CREDIT CARD
You will have to pay a deposit for the motorhome rental. Travelhome accepts no liability for deposit payments. Most motorhome rental companies require a credit card to secure the deposit. You must ensure that your credit card limit is sufficient for the payment of the deposit(s). Please be aware that many banks do not authorize their debit cards for use outside Europe. It is advisable to inquire with your bank well in advance regarding this matter.

Payments by credit card may incur additional costs. Motorhome rental company may make a surcharge for payments by credit card. Surcharges vary from company to company but is in general between 2% and 4% of the total sum. These charges are non-refundable.

The exchange rate may fluctuate during your rental period, which could either benefit or disadvantage you. Please note that no compensation is provided for exchange rate differences.

10. TRAVEL DOCUMENTS
It is necessary to apply for travel documents for some destinations.

11. HEALTH REGULATIONS
Health-related recommendations and regulations may be applicable in the destinations offered by Travelhome. Please refer to the government website of the respective destination for further details.

12. PRIVACY
Travelhome handles your data with great care and in accordance with Dutch law. Read the privacy statement for more information.

13. COMPLAINTS
In the event of a complaint, the ANVR terms that you accepted when making the booking will apply. Complaints that affect the travel experience should be addressed to the rental company during the journey, with the aim of mutually agreeing a suitable solution. If this does not resolve the issue, the complaint should be submitted to the tour operator during the journey. Complaints can be sent to service@gotravelhome.com.
